Elevator Riddle—TheFirstMcLovin

  • If no one enters elevator within 20 seconds of elevator open leave destination to 1st floor
  • When the Up button is clicked respond to it with it corresponding floor
  • When the down button is clicked respond to it with it corresponding floor
  • Respond to the first button summoned and its corresponding floor, then react to second button summoned in order as such

    This doesn’t begin to address the priority in which the elevator responds to button presses. If it does so in the order in which they’re received, it would spend its whole day delivering one passenger at a time, passing up countless opportunities to take Upbound passengers along WHILE responding to DOWN calls from upper floors, just to name one simple efficiency issue.
