It is counterintuitive that photojournalists had been sent to Haiti to document the lifeless body of Fabienne Cherisma that was caused from human actions, not the aftermath of the earthquake.
As shown in the abominable picture, teenager Fabienne Cherisma is seen laying lifeless while being surrounded by a group of photojournalists. It is clear that Fabienne Cherisma’s body was moved into many different positions, showing that the photographers were attempting to get the right angle of the young girls dead body. Though these photographers were only doing their job, this photograph caused an outrage on the accusations of media exploitation. Fabienne Cherisma’s death was unexpected, while many lay lifeless from the earthquake that struck Haiti, Fabienne remains lifeless from police brutality.
I will have to be ready to grant you a LOT of leeway to accept the idea that a dozen journalists were told to go to Haiti in the aftermath of a catastrophic earthquake to get the best picture they could take of a girl dying from a stray bullet.
Your first paragraph (sentence) seems to make that claim. I doubt you would stand by that spin. You might mean it’s counterintuitive that they went to cover a natural disaster and ended up being rewarded most for focusing on a lonely individual tragedy caused by men, not nature. Or something like that.
You have every right to use whatever details you select from the many that were available in the source materials, Softball. You’ve chosen to declare that the photographers DID in fact reposition the body. That’s your call. You’ve chosen to describe the bullet as “aimed” instead of a “stray.” Also your call.
Since those are your choices, you’re passing up the obvious opportunity to declare in your first sentence that Fabienne managed to survive an earthquake that killed tens of thousands only to be brought down and abused twice by mankind: first by the police who shot her over some looted pictures, and second by the photographers who defiled her dead or dying body by “posing” it to make their pictures more “award-worthy.”
Want to try a revision based on that angle?
