For my research paper I intend on gathering information on whether or not pets, specifically dogs, that were adopted during the COVID lockdown have more anxiety than other dogs that were adopted or gotten outside of the COVID lockdown whether it was before or after. I’ve noticed with my dog that he has gained separation anxiety when away from me. He was gotten during COVID lockdown and therefore spent everyday with me. I am aware that there are many dogs out there that were gotten or adopted during COVID lockdown for the sake of having a companion. This makes me wonder if dogs that were so used to thawing their owner at home with them then developed anxiety after being separated from their owner for a long period of time. I will be using the research part of my paper to gain general information on how anxiety works for dogs and how the usage of meds for dogs has gone up or down during the after COVID lockdown period.

Let’s not worry about a grade just yet, imaginary.persona. This is at a fine level of development for a first draft though its descriptive paragraphs leave much to be desired.
I’m actually astonished that there is SO MUCH material available on this topic, but I guess I shouldn’t be. We’re much less ambiguous about our dogs’ well-being than we are about our children’s. 🙂
But that so many sources specifically position themselves relative to COVID!
I’ll be most eager to see your source(s) on the relative numbers of anxiety-related prescriptions for this population both during COVID and non-COVID periods. There may be other ways to quantify the level of concern among pet owners, but the meds numbers are the best I can think of.
I’ll be watching.
