Elevator Post—Student 1512

-A passenger may use the Summons button outside of the elevator in order to call it to the first floor.

-If there are currently passengers within the elevator, drop off said passengers at the corresponding levels in the order of which the passengers got on the elevator. Then, lastly, arrive at the first floor at which the elevator has been summoned.

-If there are no passengers currently on the elevator when summoned to the first floor, go directly to the first floor.

-When at the first floor, stop the elevator, open the doors for the passenger, and wait fifteen seconds for inactivity before closing the doors.

-If no activity is detected, close the doors.

-Do not move up or down to any floors until the passenger selects a floor level.

-If the passenger presses the “Floor 3” Summons button, wait three seconds before beginning to move up to Floor 3.

-Should the elevator be requested to go to Floor 7 while the current passenger is on their way to Floor 3, go to Floor 3 first, let out the passenger, and then go to Floor 7.

-When reaching Floor 3, stop the elevator and wait three seconds before opening the doors. At which point the current passenger will exit the elevator.

-Continue to wait for fifteen seconds of inactivity before closing the doors and going up to the passenger that hit the Summons button on Floor 7.

Repeat the same process used to bring the first passenger to their requested level.

-When completed with the final passenger and not summoned to any other floor, return to the “Home” level. This would be the First floor

-Wait at the home level, with the doors closed, until summoned by other passengers.

  4. After visiting the fifth floor, the passengers on the fourth floor are still waiting, your button remains lit up because of this.
  5. Once the passenger from the fourth floor selects their destination, take them there.

Instructions for Elevator Operation – lil.sapph

Always display the number of current floor and direction in which it is moving with an up or down arrow correspondingly and keep the lights on unless unoccupied.

Before moving, make sure weight limit is not exceeded. If it is not exceeded, release brakes and proceed. If there is no weight, it is unoccupied

When “up-button” is pressed on any floor/floors, proceed to and make a stop at said floor/ floors in ascending order, continuing in the upwards direction until the highest “requested floor” is reached, stopping at all floors requested from inside as well. Then you may proceed to respond to “down-button” requests.

When “down button” is pressed on any floor/floors, proceed to and make a stop at said floor/floors in descending order, starting at the highest “requested floor”, continuing in the downwards direction until the lowest floor requested is reached stopping at all floors requested from inside as well. Then you may proceed to respond to “up-button” requests.

If there are no more “requested floors”, “up-buttons”, or “down-buttons” to respond to, remain at present floor until otherwise requested.

When completely stopping at a floor,

-Open doors and play “arrival tone” (ding) and pause music, remaining open for 7 seconds, then closing if there are no obstructions tripping the laser and continue “music”.

-If the laser is tripped while closing the doors, open them back up and close again after 7 seconds of no obstructions.

-Doors may also be closed manually with the “close-door button” if there are no triggers in the laser

-Doors may also be opened manually with the “open-door button” if it is completely stopped at a floor

Light “requested floor buttons” as they are pressed as those represent “requested floors”, each button numbered correspondingly with their floor.

When reaching a “requested floor”, unlight the corresponding “requested floor button” with the relative floor.

If the “Emergency Button” is pressed, immediately connect the speaker system to the call center and pause “music”

Always play “music” when moving between floors

-“Music” is Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen on repeat
