In the first scene we are shown a diver deep in the ocean where the sun can barley reach. Around the diver we see debris from what looks to be some sort of accident. The scene is very dark and hard to see through. On the diver he has all of his equipment on, as he looks to go deeper.

For the next three seconds the diver remains still and concentrated in whatever he or she see’s. We then are shown the diver is looking towards the surface and the light coming down. We are very isolated with the diver here in this dark and scary setting at the bottom of the ocean.

We then transition to a side shot of the diver as he stops looking up with flashlight in hand they now look towards us, concentration being broke by whatever they now see. We can also see the bubbles change as the diver breathes out a lot which mean they may have been caught off guard and got scared.

The Diver in the next scene is no more, as the diver who was concentrated so much on possibly getting back to the surface looked what was in front of them it was to late. A massive great white shark appears in front of the diver and looks to have killed them, but before we find out we are taken out of the scene into the phone of somebody who is in the drivers seat of a car. This person has one hand on the wheel and another on the phone.

In the following scene we are shown the driver is a male who is driving through a small neighborhood but is fully concentrated on the phone and not the road. Thankfully at the last second as this guy was coming up to a stop sign he looks up right before nearly running over a middle age woman, who looks at him in disgust.

We are shown the man in the car to be relieved he didn’t hit the woman but also terrified at what he just did as him and the woman stare directly at each other each breathing deeply. We are then moved onto a black screen telling us not to be distracted while driving.

In the final several seconds the screen fades from the message into the mans phone which is now inside the center console in the car as it should be. The man is now watching the road carefully and we are met with the message to be safe while driving as the video ends.

Exercising Is Good for Your Overall Health

Thesis Statement-The concept of exercising is good for your overall health and physical fitness. It could help prevent health conditions as in heart disease, obesity and organ failure. Without the use of physical activity, it could be harmful to your life and could cause conditions that could affect you in the long run.

Definition- The word “Exercising” refers to the act of engaging in physical activity to sustain or improve health and fitness. It involves using or applying your body muscles, or mental faculties.

The concept of exercising can be displayed in many different ways, but all have benefits on one’s health. Exercising is a form of physical activity that could help prevent medical conditions like diabetes, obesity, heart disease etc. Heart disease is rapidly increasing in America along with obesity due to fast food, less food being marketed, and individuals lacking physical activity. In the book “Braddom’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Sixth Edition)” by authors David Hryvniak, Robert P. Wilder, Jeffrey Jenkins, Siobhan M. Statuta in the 15th chapter it states that Physical activity and cardiovascular fitness are two known factors for long-term health and longevity. Everyday activity is most important for health and well-being. Also discusses how exercise must be carefully prescribed based on prior fitness levels and past medical history.

Dieting is also an important component that goes along exercise and weight loss. While on a weight loss journey, dieting and nutrition are important because it could help with seeing and feeling results. In the article “More Foot, Less Fork: Unraveling the What, Why, and How of Increasing Physical Activity in Patients” by Grasso, Alessandra C. MSPH; McDermott, Ann Yelmokas PhD, MS, LDN it states that Poor dieting and inactivity can cause life altering diseases such as heart disease, obesity, depression etc. Nutrition and health professionals can play an important role in physical activity by giving their clients with counseling and plans to help them.

The thesis and the definition complement each other in the way that exercising is good for overall health. It discusses how it can help prevent harmful medical conditions like heart disease and even depression. The argument defines the term “exercising” and what it has to offer to ones that take part in physical activity.

In the late 1900s, a new form of entertainment was born: the video game. This digital alternative for entertainment had been steadily growing in popularity, seen as a novelty more than anything, a nice change of pace from playing a board game or seeing a film in a theatre. It was a niche market, an expensive investment for most households at the time; the cost to start the gaming hobby was eye-wateringly expensive, but the industry slowly but surely grew. As the growth of any industry forms, titans of said industry rise in the wake of it . One such company was Atari, a California-based game company formed in 1972, and for a while, it was the company that beat some who tried but couldn’t escape the shadow it casts. In the end, Atari destroyed itself and the games industry, as in 1983, the video game market crashed. It was a slow descent as many mistakes were made by early game publisher, adding more and more straw to the proverbial back of consumers until something needed to give, and something did. Since then, the games industry has been resurrected, spared the fate of being a lousy fad, now growing into a gigantic market. New titans of industry formed from the ashes of the old era standing taller than ever before, but within these new titans, the phantom pain of past mistakes still lingers, becoming cracks in this new beast. Old mistakes become new, resulting from the industry’s success. With the writing on the wall in the coming years without significant change, video games will suffer the same fate as in 1983.

Usually, when talking about an industry crash, we think about stocks; according to business insider writer Robin Kavanagh’s What is a stock market crash? Understanding the causes and consequences can help investors prepare. The stock market crashes when there’s a substantial drop in overall share prices within a few days. A market would crash for numerous reasons: investor speculation, natural disasters, or simply someone adding or subtracting a zero for a specific stock. More likely than not, an industry crash coincides with a “customer” customer crash where the customer(s) no longer desire said product in the same quantity they have wanted in the past. This can be shown in a fad’s massive surge of popularity only for interest to take a nose dive right after. The video game crash 1983 displays both the consumers’ lack of interest in the product and the lack of faith in the investors due to the market’s oversaturation. With many entities fighting to get into this emerging market, the number of games being published inflated to a point where consumers needed help to handle the sheer volume of games coming out; the overall quality of said games also suffered.

Video games, as the name implies, instead of lacquered paper and colorfully reentered cardboard playmats and plastic figures. Video is a digital medium, lines of code packaged through cartridges, discs, or downloaded through storefronts. These games are also interactive mediums and are managed through a controller and a console. The console and controller is a two-part system, the console being a CPU (central processing unit) reading the game’s code and processing the game’s internal mechanics and interactions. The controller is connected to the interaction part, and the assorted buttons have an effect on the game state. This careful balance between these three core aspects of games makes the groundwork for the majority of games, and even if one of these aspects wasn’t done properly, it was a death blow for that company’s success. Creating a “good” (financially and critically successful) game is hard, and creating a good game that is also economically successful is much more complicated. In a paper written by Nikolai Surminski The Role of video game quality in financial markets the statement is made that “while the correlation between product quality, profitability, and financial growth is impacting a company’s stock price through different steps, there also exists a direct link between quality and the performance in the financial markets.” In short, though not always the case, good games should and can produce profitable results.

The fall of gaming wasn’t the result of the good games needing to be more successful; it was due to a two-part punch of a flood of low-quality games and overproduction of consoles and game cartridges not being able to make back the production costs the company sinks into it . So many companies wanted in on the gaming gold rush without a proper understanding of the trinity; Lackluster games, barely functioning controllers, and unimpressive consoles came into the market, oversaturating a market with simply not enough people to buy them. These products were purchased and sold for the same price as good products (a range of 30 to 125$), and because of the lack of formal reviews because of the newness of the market, people were not the wiser when buying, causing a lack of faith in an industry that from an outsider’s perspective was an expensive roll of the dice to see if you get something worthwhile.

Today, gaming is dominated by AAA developers’ massive studios with budgets ranging from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars to produce a shippable product, and while smaller studios still make games, it’s the AAA studio that is the backbone of the industry. The landscape of the financial world has changed a lot since then. As investors grow hungrier for a favorable return on investment and studios do everything in their power to meet those arguably obtainable expectations, more extreme practices are put into place.

The phantom pain of old mistakes evolves, becoming a dark parody of hopefully learned failings, those failings pressure that will collapse on the Titans once again. Like all industries things change constantly, companies consume, become consumed merge, etc.. that is the nature of the beast we call this dog-eat-dog market. Without real change, the titans that have lorded over this industry will be nothing.

There is a huge problem in Vancouver with heroin addicts committing crimes to support their habits. The “free heroin for addicts” program is doing everything they can to stop the addicts. The problem is that there is a large crime rate due to the addicts. It is obvious that addicts have a hard time getting through their day to day lives. Daily activities such as jobs, interactions, and relationships are hard to maintain because of the fact that they are using. By heroin users being addicted, they will do whatever they have to do to get their hands on the drug. The types of crimes committed are those of breaking and entering as well as stealing. There are no limits to where they will go to retrieve this drug so that they can feed their addiction. The problem with this program is that it won’t help to ween these addicts off using heroin. It is only trying to save the city from rising crime rates that they’re up to. By providing the drug, these addicts will be off the streets, which in turn will prevent them from committing minor street crimes. This will also keep the heroin users out of the hospital. It is pointless that the hospitals have to deal with people that want to use bad drugs or unsanitary needles and find themselves being unable to afford hospital bills and hard to cope without the drug. In response a pilot program called “Free Heroin for Addicts” has been making waves in the attempt to provide to provide free heroin to addicts to potentially reduce the number of thefts and breaking and entering committed. Addicts will do whatever they can to get their hands on their next fix and this severely hampers their ability to live healthy and productive lives. “Free Heroin for Addicts” is not a cure for the city; however, it is more like a band aid in the city’s attempts to provide heroin to those severely addicted in order to keep them off the streets, out of the hospital, and the system in general. The program while good for the city, is not an attempt to help those afflicted with addiction but to clean up the streets from petty crime by giving out free heroin for use in sanitary conditions.

Fix: Instead of adding non essential fluff in the middle of the paragraph where it is not needed, explain these crimes in the beginning of the paragraph.

The Problem- the weak point in this sentence is “this” at the start

Rewrite- The hospital wouldn’t be so full with heroin users.

The Problem- This sentence is weak because of “is” and “this” and also the use of other words would be better synonyms then the ones used in the sentence

Rewrite- By offering heroin in a controlled manner, the program aims to clean up the city, but it overlooks the essential need to help individuals break free from addiction.

StoneHarbor91–Proposal +5 Rewrite

In my research paper, I will be studying the correlation between stress and heart disease. The heart is the soul of our bodies, it’s located in the circulatory system and pumps blood around our body as our heart beats. The heart doesn’t only give us life physically; it is the essence of our emotions. 

In our bodies, we have two systems; sympathetic and parasympathetic.The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) releases the hormones (catecholamines – epinephrine and norepinephrine) to accelerate the heart rate. The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) releases the hormone acetylcholine to slow the heart rate. The sympathetic nervous system controls a network of nerves that support the body and activate its “fight or flight response”.The fight or flight response increases when an individual is stressed, in danger or physically active. Fight or flight response connects with not just the brain, but with our hearts. When fight or flight response is put into action the SNS releases two hormones called adrenaline and norepinephrine that tie into acceleration of heart rate and blood pressure. 

Everyday we cross paths with various different types of people; but there is one specific characteristic type that determines the rest of your personality. There are individuals with the characteristic of security leading to calmness and peace. Then, there is the other characteristic that is anxious leading to vulnerability and irrational fear. The group of individuals that are naturally anxious tend to have much higher stress levels than people who are secure. Therefore, this group of people will most likely develop heart problems mildly faster.
