URBIE -Elevator Riddle-

1.each floor is equipped with both an Up Button and a Down Button, both of which serve as Call Buttons. These buttons are used to request your presence, so when someone presses either of these buttons, you are prompted to travel to the corresponding floor.

2.While on route to the floor that made the call, you are designed to stop along the way to respond to any priority calls in the same direction. These priority calls must be completed before any change in direction is considered. This means that if a priority call instructs the elevator to switch directions, it will only do so after fulfilling the existing priority call.

3.Upon arriving at the floor that initially made the call, your doors have to automatically open, and it patiently waits for a brief period before closing them. During this time, the door has a sensor that can detect any obstructions in the doorway. If the sensor detects an obstruction while the door is closing, you immediately stop and reopens the door to ensure safety.

4.After successfully reaching the requested destination floor, you proceed to the next priority response. However, if no further calls are made, it remains stationary at that floor, ready to serve when called upon. This sequence of actions ensures efficient and safe elevator operation in a multi-floor building.

Ignorant Elevator Riddle—BlogUser246

(This is the only elevator in a 5-floor building)

After arriving at a floor on your path, open the door for 20 seconds and then close the door.

If you are in the process of closing the door and the circuit is interrupted, open the door for 20 seconds, and then close the door.

Each floor has an operating panel that has ascend and descend buttons. When the ascend button lights up, respond to the summon by going to the corresponding floor and going up. If a descend button lights up, respond to the summon by going to the corresponding floor and going down.

Default settings:

Travel to all the floors that correspond with the buttons that were signaled on the operating panel.

Button number 1 corresponds to floor 1

Button number 2 corresponds to floor 2

Button number 3 corresponds to floor 3

Button number 4 corresponds to floor 4

Button number 5 corresponds to floor 5

Never turn around when you are on a path to go somewhere. If you are going UP to a floor, continue moving to the floor you were summoned to, even if a button to go down summons you to another floor. If an up button on another floor is clicked while going up, stop at the floor you were signaled to and open the door, but only if you have not passed that floor yet.

Never turn around if you are on the path to go DOWN as well. If you are going down and are summoned to another floor with the up button lit up, continue on your way, and skip that location until after you stop at your initial location first. If the down button is clicked on another floor, stop at that corresponding floor only if it is on the way.

If you are summoned to a floor that an up button has been pressed when you are going down or a down button has summoned you when you are going up, skip that floor until you stopped at the floor you were going to first, and return back to that floor after.

GUN REGULATION

It seems counterintuitive that a society would send a victim of sexual assault to prison rather than offering help and justice seems contradictory. The primary source looks into a puzzling incident involving a young girl who had been raped who, in addition to being denied justice, had also been given a prison sentence for “adultery” in a highly traditional country. The article explains the girl’s struggle while stressing the horrific details of her situation in this troubling story. Our core beliefs in justice and morality are put to the test by the possibility that a victim of sexual assault can go to jail rather than receiving protection and care. It seems counterintuitive that It calls us to confront the deep-rooted cultural and legal systems that perpetrate these inequities and to advocate for a more just and compassionate society. To sum up, this case highlights the extreme reality that survivors of sexual assault face in some societies and challenges the legal and cultural systems that perpetrate victim-blame and injustice. This case serves as a reminder of the immense work that still needs to be done to provide victims with the justice and support they deserve.

CANCER-SNIFFING DOGS

It seems counterintuitive that our canine companions, dogs, are being given credit for a surprising skill: smelling out cancer. An fascinating advancement in the realm of medical diagnostics is described in the source material. Dogs, who are normally prized for their fidelity and companionship, are shown surprising abilities in spotting cancer thanks to their keen sense of smell. The idea that dogs can outperform some of these approaches contradicts our conventional concept of medical science in a society where cutting-edge technology and sophisticated medical equipment frequently dominate diagnostic processes. It is quite amazing how well they can identify malignant smells in urine or breath samples from patients. It seems counterintuitive that unexpected finding makes us reevaluate the capabilities of human technology and the unrealized potential of nature’s creations. Why are dogs so skilled at this when humans have had such a hard time finding early signs of cancer? The article encourages us to reevaluate our reliance on sophisticated technology and to appreciate the unexpected contributions that even our canine friends may make to medicine. In conclusion, the paradoxical notion that dogs might be exceptionally good at cancer detection offers a fresh viewpoint on the nexus between biology and medicine.

BANKS PEDDLE CRAP

It seems counterintuitive that a financial corporation like Morgan Stanley would intentionally take part in a contest to discover who could criticize its own financial goods the worst. But a fantastic piece of writing makes that clear. In an odd turn of events, Morgan Stanley completed its entry into a contest that was designed to spotlight the most critical remarks made about its own products. The article explores the intriguing world of financial organizations competing against one another in mocking contests. These companies appear to be embracing criticism rather than avoiding it, exhibiting an odd self-awareness. This peculiar occurrence makes one wonder about the nature of the banking sector. Why would a large bank voluntarily take part in a competition if the objective seems to be drawing attention to the shortcomings of its own products? It disrupts the way we often think about business practices and marketing tactics.

The Elevator Problem – tonysoprano44

There are 5 floors in an elevator system. On the outside of the elevator there are two buttons for floors 2-4, and one for floors 1 and 5. These buttons are labeled either up and down, and call the elevator to queue your floor for transportation whether you want to go up or down. The inside of the elevator has a control panel that has a button for every floor in the system. Pressing one queues up the request to go to the designated floor. Pressing all of the buttons will go in chronological order based on the direction the elevator is headed.

Suppose someone is standing on floor 1 and anticipates going to floor 5. They would press the button on the outside of the elevator. If the elevator is empty and there are no queued stops, the elevator would make its way to floor 1. The person would get into the elevator cabin and press their designated floor, in this case floor 5.

Concurrent to the first person pressing the button to go to floor 5, a second person on floor 3 presses the button to go up, with intent to go to floor 4. The elevator stops at floor 3, brings the second person to floor 4, and then brings the first person up to floor 5.

However, if the second person pressed the down button rather than the up button, the system would bring the first person to floor 5, and then head to floor 3 to bring the second person to their intended floor, in this case either 1 or 2.

The queue system is set up efficiently, so that if the direction of the elevator is down, it will queue requested stops and drop offs in chronological order. For example if two people are in the elevator on floor 5 (one with the intent to go to floor 4 and one with the intent to go to floor 2), and someone on floor 4 requests to go down to floor 3, it will drop them off in order of requested stop: Floor 4 then floor 3 then floor 2.

Elevator riddle- Ericcartman

The elevator must listen and respond to the buttons on the outside and inside of the elevator

The inside buttons consist of a list of floors, and the outside has an up and down button. (Except the top floor and bottom floor, where there’s only one button to summon the elevator.)

The elevator is to arrive at the destination of the button being pushed from outside it, and may only pick up additional passengers on the way only if they are traveling the same direction (up or down).

If going up, Ignore all down summons

If the elevator is going down, Ignore all up summons.

The elevator will respond to passengers in the order they click buttons.

After the passenger is inside, they will be taken to the floor they press on the inside buttons of the elevator.

The elevator will never stop at a floor it is not called to.

The elevator will rest at its last stop until it is summoned.

The elevator will open the door 1 second after it reaches its floor.

The elevator will wait 8 seconds before closing the door.
