God is Fiction, not a Fact
In this world, there are a couple different kinds of people. The ones who believe in God, the ones who don’t believe in God, and the ones who sort of believe in him. My whole essay is about the fact that God is real but what if he isn’t. The original essay attempted to provide evidence from biblical references but it is very important to examine the arguments that we made and consider alternative perspectives. From a Christians perspective, it is sometimes understandable that God isn’t real. So I will now debunk my original claim, and try to see this from the other side.
I was reading this article and it made a very interesting point: “There are lots of philosophical, theological and even scientific arguments for God’s existence. But none of them can conclusively prove that the God of the Bible is the real and only God. This is because God exists outside of our universe and is not subject to our testing. So we rely on revelation to know about God—we can only know what he reveals to us.” I know that was a long quote but I think that it is important to look at. There is no proof, anywhere, that God actually exists. How can someone who no one has ever seen exist?
The original essay relied mostly on specific bible verses to support the claim that God is real. However, it’s very important to understand that the interpretation of these verses can be different among different people and different religions or traditions. The Bible is a very complex book that requires a very careful understanding of its cultural context. Isolated verses would be useless as a definitive piece of proof without the other interpretations of it. Along with this, the essay ONLY chooses Bible verses to confirm the belief in God. It’s very important to approach the question of God’s existence with an open mind and consider the different perspectives and evidence rather than to selectively focus on information that already has some sort of evidence.
Let’s look deeper into one of the claims. The essay tried to claim that the wars in Israel are due to a prophecy being fulfilled. It says that the regathering of Israel and the conflicts in those parts of the world are evidence of biblical prophecies being fulfilled. However, these events can also be explained by political factors, human actions, and different types of societal developments. It’s important to consider other explanations and not rely solely on religious interpretations of what is currently happening. I’m sure we can find a religious interpretation of everything that has ever happened but that doesn’t mean it’s a prophecy.
This essay shows a personal belief in the existence of God and attempts to provide evidence from biblical references. The interpretation of verses can vary, different biases may influence the selection of verses to use, and cultural factors should be considered before making a claim. It’s essential to approach the question of God’s existence with an open mind and respect for other viewpoints.

You’re not the only student to misunderstand the purpose of the Rebuttal argument, Sunflower. It’s not to second-guess your own thesis. The essay is supposed to give you the opportunity to put your strongest OPPONENT’s thesis to the test and find it flawed. You seem to be questioning the tactics or conclusions of SOMEONE, but you don’t say who it is. After that, it’s unclear whether you agree or disagree that revelation proves God, or that Bible verses do. You appear to want to remain in questioning mode throughout. If that’s the point, are you refuting CERTAINTY?
There’s plenty of serious thinking going on here, Sunflower, and for a first draft, it’s ambitious and partly successful, so it’s a shame there’s no time left for serious revisions.
