My self Reflection of this semester

Core Value 1. My work demonstrates that I used a variety of social and interactive practices that involve recursive stages of exploration, discovery, conceptualization, and development.

What I did to achieve this goal during the semester this year, is that I used different ways of writing depending on what type of assignment that I was doing. Another thing that I did was, I also learned by using different sites and sources that I was doing depending on the assignment as well. Something else that I learned was also using the sources on different sites as well as making an assignment based on viewing something visually, acknowledging the opposite opinion  of my argument  which was on the rhetorical assignment as well as writing my three-thousand-word essay as well. These examples are many reasons why I developed so much during the course of the semester this year on exploring new ideas and looking at different points of view. 

Core Value 2. My work demonstrates that I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities. 

I met that goal this semester by reading my articles thoroughly through and by looking at many different types of sites when I did my research on my topic. I learned different points on making an argument while looking at the different articles that I viewed. I looked at ways to read and review different articles I learned on what is a good way of putting ideas together in my own words as well as I could to show others what I was thinking and feeling. I also did a lot of reading and research in order to put the topics together too when doing the different work on my projects in order to make my project have a strong well thought about argument and well rounded as well. 

Core Value 3. My work demonstrates that I rhetorically analyzed the purpose, audience, and contexts of my own writing and other texts and visual arguments.

I met that goal this semester this year by going into details in my visual rhetoric arguments. I described my opinions to the audience in order to show them what I was explaining while on the video during that assignment. I tried to show as many details as I could in order to make a big idea on what the frame was all about by just looking at it even though they were not telling you what the scenes were about. You had to talk about the different scenes yourself though by just making inferences. I talked a lot about making inferences because I made inferences based on what I was seeing in my observations. In the end this really helped and changed me a lot in the long run.

Core Value 4: My work demonstrates that I have met the expectations of academic writing by locating, evaluating, and incorporating illustrations and evidence to support my own ideas and interpretations.

What I did this semester in order to meet that goal was, making sure that I tried my best when I was working on my assignments even though some of them were challenging for me to do. In order to help support my own way of writing, what I did was, I looked at different quotes in different articles in order for me to help myself prove that what I am trying to prove to other people has good support. I also evaluated my own ideas by explaining the quotes that I put into my work that I did in order to have good proof on why this matters to others and I alot. In the end using my academic writing had a really big impact to make my work the best I could do. 

Core Value 5. My work demonstrates that I respect my ethical responsibility to represent complex ideas fairly and to the sources of my information with appropriate citation. 

During the semester this year, I always made sure that I cited my sources correctly in order to make sure that I did the assignment properly. I use a citing source as well to make sure that the sources that I used for my assignments were properly sorted so that I would not lose as many points. Another thing that I did was, I made sure that the cites that I used for my work were sources that had good explanations on what they were talking about in the article. I also made sure that the source was actually something that was credible and not an unprofessional opinion site like reddit. While what I was writing about was an opinion, I wanted to make sure that the sources that I was using were a proper way of stating opinions.
